If you guys don’t really know me, I’ve recently got into woodworking. So when Evolve Woodworks invited me to attend the Made In Baltimore Launch Party last Thursday, I jumped at the opportunity. An event that showcased a bunch of woodworking furniture made by Baltimore locals? Hell yeah!
This launch party was thrown to celebrate the makers and the manufacturers in Baltimore City. If you have never heard of Made in Baltimore, it is a program that supports these said local makers and manufacturers.
The event was located at Brick + Board, a Baltimore-based retailer that reclaims brick, lumber, flooring, and architectural details.
The event showcased furniture from the following furniture makers: Evolve Woodworks, Monkey in the Metal, Rybak Woodworking, Renee Tantillo, Good Wood Design, Hadley Woodshop, David Zimmerman Woodworks, Le Loupe Design, Philosophy with a Hammer, Studios on Sisson, Marco Duenas, Bliss Woodworks, Mclain Wiesand Design, Heavy Paper, and Joshua Crown.
Evolve Woodworks came out with this amazing bar made up of mostly wood.
When I got close to the bar, I was amazed to find out that the ‘bricks’ were entirely made up of all wood. The details on counter top are fantastic too.
Always great craftsmanship from Evolve Woodworks. They honestly never fail to deliver.

Another woodworker that struck me was Monkey in the Metal.
Do you see how amazing the details are with this table? Look at how the base was designed:
Everything was cut precisely. There were even screws placed in the details!
They only had one table on display, but their business card displayed another beautiful looking table:
Hopefully I’ll get to see more of their stuff at future furniture events!

One other maker that caught my eye was Renee Tantillo. She displayed this amazing metal and glass side table.
I was also in love with her industrial decor. She used transmission gear parts to make these:
This spark plug candle bowl is so artsy and original too!

Although I only mentioned the three makers above, I was in awe with all the other makers too.
The above table was made by Marco A. Duenas.
The bow ties below were made by Studios On Sisson. Aren’t they so cute?!
I love the minimalism from Rybak Woodworking below:
What do you guys think about the wall shelves below? The first one is from Zimmerman Woodworks. The following molecular shelf is from Capricorn Custom Wood & Restoration.
The below are from Hadley Woodshop.
Besides the amazing furniture and decorations, there was also free delicious food! First off, the ice cream was from Taharka Brothers Ice Cream. I ended up getting the Honey Graham flavor while my date got the Coffee Oreo. Both flavors were delicious nomz.

Other foods and entertainment that were there: free bbq by Sully’s Seafood and BBQ, free frozen sorbet by Frozen Desert Sorbet, free drinks, corn hole, and music! T’was great.
Overall, it was an awesome event with great energy! I got to network with some woodworkers, support local business, admire all the art and furniture, eat delicious food, drink some mead made by Charm City Meadworks, and go on a cute date! Haha.
If you’re disappointed you missed the event, fear not! The furniture showroom is going on from July 20 – August 31. Although no food or entertainment will be provided, you can still look at the amazing furniture these makers made.
