OneDo Coffee Roasters

Although I no longer live in Canton anymore, the coffee shop that brings me back to this side of the city is OneDo Coffee Roasters. OneDo Coffee (pronounced won-dew) opened its doors on March 18, 2018 in Canton. If you don’t know, OneDo translates to coffee beans in Korean. Being long term Canton residents, Gloria Hwang and James Park, the owners of OneDo, have always wanted to open a coffee shop in Canton. They wanted a space where they could bring the community together, and they did just that!

This cute coffee shop is located a couple of blocks away from Canton Square and just a block or two off of Boston Street. Although it is street parking, I’ve never had issues parking or parking a block or two away to walk over to OneDo. It’s summer time after all, and I might as well get my steps in!

Also, sometimes I bike to OneDo. I lock up my bike on the railing in front of the shop. Just looking out for my fellow bikers who want to visit and get a good cup of coffee!

When you step into OneDo, the counter is already right there with the baristas waiting to greet you. The baristas are not only trained, but they know how to treat you right. Great customer service and they are always so thoughtful and have great smiles! ^_^

If it’s your first time, you’ll see their menu displayed on the wall in front of the baked goods. Also, can I just point out that the artwork for the menu on the wall is SO COOL AND MINIMALISTIC?!

If you don’t see anything you like on the menu on the wall, OneDo has another menu that displayes more choices ranging from teas to other tasty coffee drinks with different brewing methods. They can also make traditional drinks off the menu, like flat whites, as long as they have the material.

**Below is OneDo’s soft opening menu. I am sure the menu has expanded since their soft opening.

OneDo currently gets their baked goods delivered fresh every morning from Stone Mill Bakery. Customers can get muffins, danishes, croissants, cookies, brownies, etc, while getting their cup of jo in the morning. If baked goods aren’t your thing, you can get different types of fruit, yogurt, yogurt parfaits, and more!
I asked John, one of the coffee managers of OneDo, where Gloria got the concept of OneDo’s interior design from. He stated that Gloria was influenced by the rustic feel and chicness of other local coffee shops in Baltimore city and the Baltimore county area.
Gloria also wanted to include quality coffee and quality baristas. What’s the point of having a beautiful coffee shop if you don’t have quality drinks? You need both. And OneDo delivers both.
To set forth more of a rustic, modern, chill feel to the coffee shop, wooden tables and plants decorate the place.
I love how OneDo roasts their own coffee in-house. Yes, you read correctly. They ROAST THEIR OWN COFFEE IN THE BACK. You can even see the action happen if you sit at the back of the coffee shop. It’s pretty cool! And if you end up liking their coffee a lot, you can even buy their coffee beans and take them home!

If you’re wondering about the work environment here, I definitely highly recommend getting work done here. They have a huge community table in the back, lots of seats, a bunch of tables scattered all around, and outlets galore! I’ve done lots of writing and photo editing here since OneDo opened and, I gotta say, this is one of my favorite places to do work at.

OneDo is also a great place for dates, work meet ups, and study sessions! I’ve seen all of these interactions happen hahaha.

OneDo does have a lot of ideas and events they want to do for the public. I’m not allowed to say just yet, but stay tuned and follow their instagram here for future event updates!

So if you haven’t had the chance to see this beautiful space, come check it out! Support local businesses! Grab a coffee, come sit down, read a book, surf the web, and just chill.

Below is John peacing out. I’m using him to peace out for this blog post. Until next time!
